Sweep Description
Pregnancy
Professor Cyrus Cooper
MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit, University of Southampton
Women who took part in the initial interview for the SWS were asked for their consent for their GP to inform the study if they became pregnant, and were also asked to inform the study themselves. Some 3158 women took part in the pregnancy component of the study and delivered a live born singleton baby. During pregnancy, data were collected at 11, 19 and 34 weeks’ gestation, ultrasound scanning was conducted at each visit, and blood samples were collected.
