The WCHADS extensive sample mothers and their partners completed questionnaire measures at approximately 12 months postpartum. Domains of measurement include; parental and infant mental health, physical health, demographic change, infant temperament, lifestyle and relationship information, parenting, infant behaviour.
Women in the WCHADS intensive subsample completed multiple additional domains of assessment including; diagnostic and other interviews, questionnaires and a range of filmed observational assessments of mothers and infants (e.g. mother-infant interaction, strange situation to assess attachment security, and laboratory tests of temperament) at approximately 12 months postpartum. Some hypothesis driven experimental measures to assess infant development were completed. Physiological data was gathered from infants including cortisol reactivity to a social stressor and vagal tone during a range of control and stress related laboratory procedures.
