Mothers and children in the extensive sample were invited to complete a follow up questionnaire online or by post (referred to as Phase 15 Mother Questionnaire and Phase 15 Child Questionnaire). Domains of measurement include; parental and child mental health, physical health, demographic change, child temperament, parental lifestyle and relationship information, life events, parenting, peer relationships, activities, child behaviour, personality.
This wave started in December 2019. In March 2020 the phase 15 assessment wave was paused and the questionnaire was amended to include questions on families experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic. In June 2020 this wave was restarted and an amended questionnaire was sent to all mothers and children who had not yet completed the wave prior to March 2020 (Referred to as Phase 15 Mother Questionnaire amended COVID and Phase 15 Child Questionnaire amended COVID in here). At this time the mothers and children who had completed the original questionnaire wave prior to March 2020 were asked to complete a second questionnaire containing the additional COVID-19 questions, as well as a repeat of the mental health measures (referred to as the COVID Retest).
A small number of mothers and children returned their original phase 15 questionnaires between March and June 2020 and these participants were invited to complete a short questionnaire containing only the COVID-19 related questions (referred to as the COVID only questionnaire).
