Health visitors collected information from health records and interviewed mothers at home about the health, home and family circumstances of the mother and baby. They made assessments of maternal care and home circumstances. Topics covered include: development of the baby, domestic accidents, infectious diseases, immunisation, miscellaneous illnesses, immunisation, feeding, infant welfare, baby's sleeping arrangements, use of nurseries and the dwelling and the household.
