Abstract

School nurses and health visitors interviewed mothers at home about the child's health, development and behaviour, school absences, play, the mother's work and the home and family circumstances; they also commented on the state of the dwelling. Topics covered included: accidents, illnesses, hospital admissions and out-patient visits, school clinic visits, absences, bed wetting, general health and behaviour, the mother's work and schooling.
